I had a really rough weekend. I had just got back from grocery shopping and my mom called. My Dad had died. Sleep is hard to come by these days and just a thought can trigger sadness. I worried about whether my Dad was in Heaven and he sent me this message.

Mom and I had to pick out a passage to go on Dads memorial card and the funeral home gave us at least 12 to pick from. I looked them over and picked a few I liked but wanted Mom to make the final decision. As she read my first choice, she began to cry. “You know just a few days ago Dad told me he was ready to die and had found peace with God,” said Mom. “He told me he was on his way to Heaven.”

At that moment I felt peace wash over me and I knew I would see my Dad again:)

In Loving Memory of Pete

God saw that you were tired, and help was not to be. So He put his arms around you, and whispered, “Come with me.”

With tearful eyes we were told, you had gone away. Although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay.

A golden heart stopped beating. A hard working body is at rest. God broke our heart to prove to us, that He only takes the best.

A million times we have thought of you, as many times we cried. If love alone could have saved you, you never would have died.

In life we loved you dearly, in death we love you still. In our heart you hold a special place, no one can ever completely fill.

It broke our heart to lose you, but you did not go alone. For a part of us went with you, the day God came, and took you home.
